Visual perception is the ability to understand and recognize images, whether it be found in works of fine art, safety symbols, publications or words.

Academy of Fine Artists Art Programs for Youth and Teens
emphasizes the value of correctly implementing the six elements of design including line, shape, space, colour, value and texture as well as the importance of drawing well when learning Illustration and Painting.

The Academy's comprehensive "General Art Program A, B,C,... " includes applications in Drawing and Painting using graphic and coloured pencils, vibrant coloured markers, watercolour pencils and water colours accommodating the capability and interest of each student.
New reference material is provided each succeeding semester.
